This Triple layer construction offers exceptional beauty and durability. You receive the benefit of a wooden style door with the low maintenance of a steel product. Wood-clad metal garage doors are becoming standard features in many luxury homes.

Made of 3/8" lap & gap solid wood panels, (SIXTEEN available species)
Attached to the commercial steel doors with stainless steel fasteners and polyurethane adhesive.

ASSEMBLY PROCESS
We do not piece boards; all boards run from top to bottom creating continuity.
Although the color variations are part of each species beauty, we use the following process to ensure you the most beautiful finished product.
Before sealers are applied all boards are laid out on the face of the door. Boards are combined in complimentary color variations. In their natural, unfinished state, fine hardwoods have a richly textured, tactile grain combined with a palette of warm or mellow tones ranging from light amber to cherry to deep honey brown. No man-made material can duplicate the depth of the wood’s natural luster. Please remember wood is a natural product and has color and grain variations from board to board.
FINISHING
We believe that the best finish will make the “world’s finest door” a beautiful, low-maintenance product that brings happiness and satisfaction to the homeowner. Exotic Wood Doors are finished on all six edges with Sikkens coatings. We apply, at the factory, the first coat of Sikkens® and two top coats to complete the Sikkens System.

Commercial Steel Door Features
- We specify high quality commercial steel doors that are engineered for durability and smooth operation
- Roll formed, 24 gauge, 2” thick sections, hot dipped galvanized steel
- Interlocking tongue and groove joints, “v” type vinyl astragal weather seal
- Prime painted with rust inhibitor plus a baked-on polyester finish coat
- Steel track is 2” or 3” as required to suit door size and type
- Styles are heavy duty galvanized steel (doubled on ends), riveted to panels, fixtures are 13 gauge galvanized steel.
- Full floating Teflon rollers.
- 1 5/8" expanded polystyrene insulation with vinyl back, R-Value = 7.35
- Lifetime limited warranty

Q & A:
1. How do Wooden Garage Doors operate?
They operate with an automatic garage door opener. We specify a ½ hp Lift Master Plus with all but our largest doors.
2. How much do Exotic Wood Doors cost?
Because all our doors are custom designs, it is difficult to give specific information until the type, frame size and wood selections are determined. However, fine wood over ultra-sturdy commercial grade steel metal start at approximately $3,400 and solid wood carved raised panel doors begin about $4,500.
3. Are they hard to care for because they are wood?
Wood maintenance is usually limited to re-applying the topcoat finish every 2 – 3 years without sanding or scraping. This process generally takes no more than a few hours.
4. How do I design a door?
Your door design may come from something you’ve seen, an architect’s rendition, or we can offer free design assistance to achieve your desired look.
5. Why are your doors unique?
We pay attention to every detail. Each design is customized using only the finest hard woods and craftsmanship with technology that guarantees excellent thermal insulation and durability. We use a “Moisture Control System” finish to ensure longevity and lasting beauty. 8. How long is usual delivery?
Typical lead-time is 2-3 weeks for Fine Wood over Steel and 6-12 weeks for Solid Panel Doors.
9. How are the doors delivered?
Within a 4 hour radius of Austin, the doors are delivered on our trucks and installed by our personnel. Elsewhere doors are delivered using common carriers.
10. How do the doors get installed?
Only by a certified professional.
